December 2005:

tremendous value to our product line n addition to helping keep our pricing very competitive” says Rich Howard owner of ABS.
Mesker is a very appealing option to customers purchasing hollow metal doors from ABS. For instance, every door sold is both fire rated and insulated. These two options are included with every door for no additional charge. ABS offers more value to its client base therefore empowering those clients to offer more value to their client base. “It is a win-win situation for everyone” states Howard. November 2005:
“We have spent the last 3 – months significantly increasing the
functionality of www.customillwork.com. We have added
printable cut sheets of the hundreds of millwork profiles on the site” says Howard. In addition, we have added a directory of all our wood types both domestic and exotic and can be viewed here: wood types. “This month will be when we market our custom millwork online. I am excited with anticipation! I think we hit a home run with this product line” states Howard.
October 2005:
Online orders become noticeable amount of monthly sales.“30% of our sales this month came from clients who found us
online” states Rich Howard owner. ABS supplied over one hundred doors and frames to a contractor building a church in Mississippi and dozens of Sargent locksets to a contractor in Tennessee building Pilot Travel Centers throughout the United States. In addition ABS provided the doors and frames to a new motorcross stadium in Ohio. “This success is a result of the hard work and determination of our web designer. People tell me constantly how great the site looks and it is because of our web guy” says Howard.
May 2005:
Architectural Builders Supply announces the addition of Mesker Door Inc. to its hollow metal door offering. “Mesker is hungry for the business” states Rich Howard owner of
ABS. With competitive pricing and a well built door, Mesker brings real value to our product line. Howard also says the rising cost of steel over the last 3 – years has forced ABS to search out new ways to supply doors to the market. He believes Mesker will help ABS remain competitive today and in the future.
March 2005:
Architectural Builders Supply moves into 8,000 sq. ft. facility.“The move to 5681 Northwest Highway gives us greatly needed
space. But even more so will give us the ability to take advantage
of the 20,000 cars that pass here daily by building a showroom and
retail center” says Rich Howard. The move to this facility is
within 3 blocks of I-90 the Kennedy expressway. This will allow
access to and from this major Chicago artery within 3 minutes in
either direction. In addition to this strategic location ABS plans a
retail center where contractors will be able to purchase all the
ancillary items necessary to install the products they sell. “Once
we bring in the drill bits, hand tools and other items used everyday
to install our doors, we will be a one stop shop for our customers”
states Howard.
